David ‘Angel the Alchemist’ Holguin
Angel Holguin’s path through hospitality spans more than twenty years — beginning humbly as a cashier in a fast-food joint, then stepping into diners, bars, and five-star dining rooms. From the block to Beverly Hills, from Maui to Malibu, each stop was both a proving ground and a classroom. Angel absorbed knowledge wherever they could find it: from corporate leaders, neighborhood mentors, elders, and the very communities being served.
But this journey was never just about climbing the ladder of service. It was about carrying something sacred — the wisdom of cultura, queerness, and spirituality — into every space. What Angel discovered is that true hospitality is not a transaction, it is a ceremony.
Angel’s late mother remains the guiding star of this work. She is The Shady Lady, the namesake of the forthcoming restaurant and the spirit behind the Lily of the Valley flowers that bloom through the brand. She taught that sustenance, music, and community are what nourish the soul. Angel’s brand is a tribute to her — and to the belief that hospitality at its highest level provides shade in a scorching world.
Across consulting, private mixology, and event production, Angel has now come full circle: creating sanctuaries of sustenance, laughter, and connection. These are not just spaces to eat or drink. They are ecosystems — where the alchemy of music, taste, design, and community converge to create moments that live on as memory, even legacy.
Angel’s work is rooted in a promise: every project, every venue, every event is a chance to transform. For clients, staff, and guests alike, hospitality becomes not just service — but ceremony.
